How Much Do Water Bottle Labels Cost?

There is no single price for water bottle labels, because the same label can cost very different amounts depending on four choices. This guide explains what moves the price so you can decide where to spend and where to save.

The short answer

The price of a set of labels depends on the shape and size, the material, and how many you order. It is shown live in the staynish label configurator: choose the shape, size, material and quantity tier and the total updates as you go. That is the quickest way to get an exact number for your bottle.

What decides the price

Together these set the total for your order, and the per-label price is the total divided by the quantity.

  • Material: waterproof PET film costs a different amount from plain paper, and metallic or kraft papers differ again
  • Size: a larger label uses more material and costs more per label
  • Shape: standard shapes such as rectangle, circle and oval have fixed sizes; a custom shape is cut to your artwork outline
  • Quantity: labels are priced in tiers from 50 up to 10,000, and each tier spreads the cost of a job across more labels

Material and cost

Waterproof film is the right choice for any bottle that will be chilled, so treat it as a requirement rather than an upgrade. A paper label that peels in the first hour costs more than the film label you should have chosen, because you reprint the whole run.

For bottles that stay dry, such as a gift bottle on a shelf, paper is a perfectly good and more economical option.

How quantity changes the price per label

Setting up a print job has a fixed element, so a bigger quantity tier generally brings the cost per label down. If you will use the same label again in a few months, a larger tier now can work out cheaper than two small orders. Compare the per-label price across tiers in the configurator before you decide.

How to get the most accurate number

For more than 10,000 labels, or something that does not fit the configurator, request a quote.

  • Know your bottle's label area and choose a size that fits it
  • Decide whether the bottle will be chilled, which sets the material
  • Choose a quantity tier that matches how many you will really use
  • Check the live price in the configurator for each option

Ways to reduce cost without hurting performance

  • Use the standard size that fits, not the largest you can fit
  • Use paper only where the bottle stays dry
  • Order the quantity you will use rather than a tier you will not finish
  • Keep to a standard shape unless a custom outline is part of the brand

Frequently asked questions

Why is there no single price?

Because shape, size, material and quantity all change it. The configurator shows the exact total for the combination you choose.

Does a bigger order lower the cost per label?

Larger quantity tiers spread the job's fixed cost across more labels, so compare the per-label price across tiers.

Does waterproof material cost more?

Waterproof PET film is priced differently from paper. For chilled bottles it is the right material, so compare the live price for both.

Do custom shapes cost more?

A custom shape is cut to your artwork outline and priced as its own option in the configurator, so you can compare it with the standard shapes.
